Job summary

Acara Solutions is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead a multi-site nuclear manufacturing operation in Ontario. You will own engineering and quality programs, set technical standards, and serve as senior authority on nuclear compliance, ASME, CSA, and QA requirements.

The role requires strategic leadership, hands-on technical expertise, and the ability to mentor teams across facilities while engaging with regulators, inspectors, and customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario or eligibility.
• Minimum 12 years in metal fabrication, machining, pressure equipment, or related manufacturing.
• Minimum 5 years of engineering leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and technical leadership across multiple facilities.
• Oversee engineering design, quality, estimation, and manufacturing support.
• Ensure compliance with ASME/CSA/NQA standards and regulatory requirements.
• Partner with regulatory bodies, inspectors, and customers as senior technical authority.
• Develop and implement technical standards, processes, and training.
