Job summary

Voyager Technologies is seeking a Principal Technical Director for National Security to shape the technological vision for advanced programs and lead multi‑disciplinary engineering teams. You will drive R&D programs end-to-end, architect complex space-ground systems, and guide TRL 3–6 transitions into deployable solutions.

You will collaborate with product and business teams to define commercialization strategies and supervise growth initiatives while engaging government customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Security Clearance: Must currently hold an active U.S. Top Secret / SCI Security Clearance.
• National Security Space Systems Expertise: background designing, developing, and deploying national security space systems.
• Algorithm Development: strong track record designing and developing complex algorithms across space domains with modern compute/AI/ML techniques.
• R&D Leadership: experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams through the full lifecycle of advanced R&D programs.
• Domain Expertise: experience in space technology domains including space control, SIGINT, cyber, autonomy, or related areas.
• Programmatic Execution: familiarity with government R&D contracting and delivering against technical milestones.
• Proposal Development: proven proposal development experience for complex government solicitations.

Responsibilities

• Own the technology strategy for Voyager's national security Advanced Programs portfolio, serving as the ultimate technical authority across intelligence collection, non-kinetic effects, space control, cyber, autonomy, and multi-regime communications.
• Lead the execution of complex, high-stakes R&D programs (CRAD/IRAD) from white paper to deployment, managing the IRAD pipeline end-to-end.
• Architect end-to-end systems bridging hardware, software, and mission software across space and ground segments.
• Guide technologies from TRL 3–6 into robust, productized solutions ready for manufacturing and deployment.
• Build, inspire, and mentor a world-class, multidisciplinary engineering organization.
• Partner with Growth, Business Development, and Capture teams to refine requirements and win major government contracts.
• Support due diligence and post-acquisition integration for inorganic growth opportunities.
