Job summary

Mohr Talent is seeking a hands-on Director of Construction for a multi-unit retail portfolio in the Marlborough, MA area. You will lead new freestanding locations and remodels across several states, coordinating with site-development partners, municipalities, contractors, and operations teams.

You will own ground-up construction and remodel projects from pre-construction through turnover, manage complex schedules and budgets, and ensure timely openings while meeting quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of commercial construction experience
• Experience delivering multi-site or multi-unit retail development
• Ground-up construction and remodel project ownership
• Strong permitting and municipal-approval experience
• Experience managing budgets, schedules, and change orders
• Knowledge of civil/site development and utilities

Responsibilities

• Lead new-build and remodel projects from due diligence through opening and closeout
• Manage multiple freestanding retail projects across several states
• Coordinate site work, utilities, building systems, prototypes, and equipment
• Own schedules, budgets, forecasts, change orders, risks, and reporting
• Source and manage general contractors, architects, engineers, and vendors
• Navigate zoning, permits, inspections, and occupancy certificates
• Conduct site visits to monitor safety, quality, progress and readiness
• Partner with Development/Real Estate/Operations leadership to remove obstacles
