Job summary

Wright-Patt Credit Union Inc. seeks a Director of Retail Mortgage Originations to lead mortgage loan production across origination channels, ensure superb member service, and uphold compliance and profitability in the department.

The role requires strategic leadership, teamwork with agents and builders, policy oversight, audit readiness, and development of new products while maintaining regulatory standards and high operating controls.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree is required, preferably in business. Ten years mortgage origination experience with leadership training may be considered.
• Minimum five years in mortgage originations.
• Minimum five years of management experience, preferably overseeing other managers.
• Knowledge of conventional and government loan programs and guidelines.
• Ability to lead a sales team, monitor and coach sales efforts.
• Ability to analyze, reason, problem solve, and prioritize work independently.
• Ability to analyze complex situations and design recommendations to meet goals.
• Ability to develop sound and efficient processes.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
• NMLS is required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor quality of work and profitability of the mortgage portfolio and ensure compliance with laws.
• Lead management to develop relationships with real estate agents, builders, and centers of influence to increase mortgage applications.
• Develop strategies and plans, monitor progress, and deliver a superior member service experience.
• Recruit and assist in hiring mortgage originations staff.
• Lead training and coaching of origination staff and manage audits and exam responses.
• Develop and implement new products to meet member-owner needs.
• Lead the Member Preferred program.
