Job summary

BerQ RNG is seeking a Senior Director of Business Operations – Mixed Waste for our Bloomington, California facility. You will provide overall operational leadership for the site, guiding safety, reliability, and financial performance while coordinating with corporate functions and engineering teams.

The role requires hands-on expertise in mixed-waste processing, anaerobic digestion, and capital planning, with the ability to translate business goals into actionable plans and drive improvements

Qualifications

• 10–15+ years of progressive operational leadership experience in mixed-waste, anaerobic digestion, biogas, RNG or related industrial operations.
• Hands-on experience with mixed-waste operations is required.
• Proven experience managing operating sites and leading site-based operations teams.
• Demonstrated understanding of anaerobic digestion and digester health and feedstock management.
• Experience managing capital projects and operational improvement initiatives.
• Strong understanding of facility infrastructure and P&L relationships.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for the Facility and on-site operations teams with clear priorities and accountability.
• Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure safe, reliable, and financially responsible performance.
• Maintain a strong safety culture with compliance across EH&S requirements.
• Provide technical leadership for digester health, feedstock management, and process performance.
• Adapt operations to changing feedstock and troubleshoot operational issues.
• Oversee maintenance, reliability, and asset management to improve uptime and safety.
• Prioritize and support capital improvement projects to enhance safety, capacity, and efficiency.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Construction, Maintenance, and Finance on capital projects.
• Manage budgets, capital expenditures, forecasts, and cost-reduction opportunities.
• Provide senior management with timely reporting on operational performance and risks.
• Lead and develop a high-performing operations organization with a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Work with HR on performance management and policy alignment.
• Travel to other BerQ RNG sites as required.
