Job summary

VulcanForms is seeking a Sr. Director of Integrated Materials and Process Technologies to own the materials, printing, post-processing, and integration tech roadmap for our metal AM platform.

You will translate advanced R&D into safe, repeatable production and build a multidisciplinary organization across engineering and manufacturing. The role demands systems thinking, hands-on leadership, and a proven ability to drive programs from concept through industrialization, aligning with aerospace,

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience deploying manufacturing processes into production.
• 3+ years leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Experience with metal laser powder bed fusion or similar additive manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of materials science and process engineering.
• Proven ability to scale teams and programs on aggressive schedules.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical roadmap for materials and integrated process technologies across additive platforms.
• Own milestones balancing development velocity with safety, cost, quality, and manufacturability.
• Transition technologies from development to validation, qualification, and serial production.
• Establish reviews, validation gates, documentation standards, and quality systems.
• Build and lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers and scientists.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, hardware, software, supply chain, and quality teams.
• Drive next-generation additive manufacturing applications and processes.
• Define requirements for new metal AM systems from powder handling to finishing.
