Job summary

Merck's Metabolism & Atherosclerosis group seeks a Senior Director to lead late-stage clinical development for MASH and obesity-related disorders. You will design and oversee trials, coordinate cross-functional teams, and ensure regulatory reporting and publication.

This role requires MD or MD/PhD with strong leadership and a proven track record in clinical medicine and biomedical research. Ideal candidates have industry or senior academic experience and demonstrate excellence in communication

Qualifications

• M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in clinical medicine.
• 3–5 years of industry or academia experience in drug development or biomedical research.
• Proven track record in overseeing clinical studies and protocols.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and direct clinical research activities for metabolism-focused medicines.
• Monitor and manage ongoing or new clinical trials.
• Analyze and summarize clinical findings to support safety, efficacy, and regulatory decisions.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams for development of compounds and studies.
• Support development strategies and external opportunities.
