Job summary

University of Central Florida seeks an Associate Dean for Students in the College of Medicine to provide strategic leadership for student services and educational programs across preclinical and clinical phases. This role advances student wellbeing, professional development, and academic success within an environment that values collaboration and integrity.

The candidate will have 5+ years in student affairs or medical education, strong communication and management skills, and will help align

Qualifications

• MD, DO, or PhD from an accredited institution.
• ABMS board certification.
• Tenure track candidates must be eligible for appointment as a tenured associate professor or professor of medicine upon hire; demonstrated teaching/research/service record expected.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Student Affairs functions, including Admissions, Career Services, Counseling & Wellness, Academic Support, Financial Services, and Registrar.
• Supervise and mentor Assistant Deans for Students and staff.
• Lead the four-year advising program and Careers Curriculum for medical students and support residency applications.
• Oversee MSPE process across Deans for Students in line with AAMC guidelines.
• Plan major student events: orientation, White Coat, Match Day, Class Day, Commencement.
