Job summary

TransMedics, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Director of Systems Engineering to own the system-level architecture, requirements, and verification strategy for the Organ Care System.

This senior leadership role sits on the R&D staff and drives multi-year technical strategy across hardware, software, and regulatory needs. The role is build-focused and hands-on when needed, leading design teams, guiding verification, and coordinating with Quality, Regulatory, Supply Chain, and Clinical to bring advanced

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering and 10+ years in medical device systems engineering
• Experience managing an engineering team
• Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration

Responsibilities

• Set department strategy for Systems Engineering within R&D.
• Own system architecture, requirements, design, and testing for next-generation Organ Care Systems.
• Lead design teams and provide oversight to internal and external teams.
• Stay hands-on in requirements translation, verification, and validation.
• Lead system-level verification strategy and manage protocol/report generation across labs.
• Own goals, budgeting, scheduling, and cross-functional partnerships.
