TransMedics is seeking a Sr. Director of Systems Engineering to own the end-to-end architecture for the Organ Care System. This senior role leads design, verification, and regulatory alignment across electro-mechanical and software domains, partnering with QA, Regulatory, and Clinical teams.

The position sits on the R&D leadership staff, guiding multi-year strategy, while translating requirements into actionable subsystem design during high-pressure programs.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering with 10+ years in systems engineering for medical devices.
• Experience leading engineering teams and cross-functional groups.
• Direct knowledge of regulatory requirements for medical devices (US and international).

Responsibilities

• Set department strategy for Systems Engineering within R&D.
• Own system architecture, requirements, design and testing for next-gen OCS.
• Lead design teams and provide oversight to internal/external contributors.
• Stay hands-on translating requirements into subsystem design.
• Own system-level verification strategy and test protocol generation.
• Set goals, manage budgets and schedules; partner across QA, Supply Chain, Regulatory, and Clinical.
