Job summary

Knollwood, a nonprofit in the upper Northwest Washington, DC area, is seeking a Director of Fund Development to own a major-gift portfolio, solicit gifts, and lead planned giving initiatives. You will work directly with the CEO and Board to shape annual and multi-year development strategies and campaigns.

This front-line, relationship-driven role requires building donor relationships, coordinating events, and driving growth across contributed revenue streams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum five years of front-line fundraising experience with a demonstrated record of closing major gifts.
• Proficiency with donor CRM.
• Knowledge of ethical fundraising standards and IRS gift-substantiation requirements.

Responsibilities

• Major-gift portfolio ownership: identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gifts.
• Personally solicit major and planned gifts; lead annual giving campaigns and identify grants.
• Plan, coordinate, and oversee fundraising events and communications.
