Job summary

RTX is seeking a Director and Senior Counsel to support a portfolio of senior functional leaders across environmental, health & safety, quality, and mission assurance. The role reports to the Executive Director, Associate General Counsel and requires delivering timely, pragmatic legal advice for complex programs.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of legal experience, including 5+ years in aerospace/defense or manufacturing.
• Juris Doctorate from an accredited U.S. law school.
• Admitted to a U.S. State bar and eligible to represent Raytheon as in-house counsel.

Responsibilities

• Establish trust with functional and business leaders to understand needs and goals and provide business-centric legal guidance.
• Provide direct legal support to Environmental, Health & Safety and Quality & Mission Assurance teams and other initiatives.
• Advise on relevant U.S. and foreign laws and manage regulatory compliance with bodies like OSHA, EPA, FAR/DFARS, and NIST.
• Collaborate with RTX, Collins Aerospace, and Pratt & Whitney leaders to align practices.
• Present legal topics to senior leaders and train business or legal personnel as needed.
• Manage outside counsel and the general counsel budget for matters in scope.
• Travel domestically and internationally up to 10–20% as needed.
• Support multiple sites including MA (Tewksbury/Andover/Marlborough), CT, VA, TX, AZ, CO; participate in cross-site initiatives.
