Job summary

RTX is seeking a Director and Senior Counsel to support a portfolio of senior functional leaders and solve complex problems across aerospace and defense. This U.S.-based role requires top-tier litigation and regulatory experience, with a focus on compliance and strategic guidance within a large corporate setting.

The position offers broad exposure to multiple RTX businesses and potential for international travel, with a strong emphasis on leadership, collaboration, and driving business results

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited U.S. law school.
• Active bar admission in at least one U.S. state.
• 12+ years of legal experience, including 5+ years in aerospace/defense/manufacturing.
• Active security clearance or ability to obtain one.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Establish trusting relationships with functional leaders to understand needs and provide business-centric legal guidance.
• Provide direct legal support to Environmental, Health & Safety and Quality & Mission Assurance.
• Advise on U.S./foreign laws and regulations (OSHA, EPA, FAR/DFARS, NIST) and manage compliance.
• Collaborate with RTX, Collins Aerospace and Pratt & Whitney leaders to align and share best practices.
• Present on legal topics to senior business or Legal team leadership; train personnel as needed.
• Manage outside counsel and the general counsel budget for matters in scope.
• Some domestic and international travel (10-20%).
