Job summary

Trust for Public Land in New York seeks a dynamic Institutional Giving Director to elevate corporate and foundation giving, managing a portfolio of 60–75 major donors capable of $50k–$500k+ and beyond. You will translate program strategies into compelling donor materials, craft budgets with Finance, and collaborate across Philanthropy, Program, Legal, and Marketing teams.

Qualifications

• Nine years of experience in nonprofit fundraising and meeting targets.
• Crafting compelling written and verbal fundraising communications.
• Experience in composing complex grant proposals, LOIs, and institutional reports.
• Track record of identifying and qualifying new prospects from cold outreach.
• Proven history cultivating relationships with foundations and corporations.
• Experience budgeting with Finance to develop proposal budgets.

Responsibilities

• 75% relationship management: manage a portfolio of foundations and corporations giving $50k–$500k+ and grow donors.
• 15% proposal, presentation, and briefing development: translate program strategies into donor narratives and create internal briefs.
• 10% internal collaboration: partner with program, finance, legal, marketing to align priorities and opportunities.
