Job summary

Comic Relief US is seeking a Senior Director, Individual Giving to lead the strategic development and expansion of our individual philanthropy program. You will drive revenue growth across digital and traditional channels while managing a high-performing team in a hybrid NYC setting.

You’ll partner with senior leadership to align fundraising with organizational priorities, cultivate major gifts, and deepen donor engagement using data-driven insights and compelling donor journeys.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience in fundraising, with a strong focus on individual giving.
• Proven track record of managing and growing multi-channel individual giving programs.
• Demonstrated success in cultivating and closing major gifts.
• Strong leadership and team management experience.
• Data-driven mindset with experience using analytics to inform decision-making.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Passion for the mission of Comic Relief US.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive individual giving strategy to significantly increase revenue across all channels.
• Set and achieve ambitious annual fundraising goals aligned with organizational priorities.
• Partner with executive leadership to integrate individual giving into broader development and marketing strategies.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of three (Director, Manager, Associate), fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and growth.
• Oversee individual fundraising strategy, collaborate with marketing and creative teams to produce compelling donor journeys and campaigns.
• Support key donor programs including monthly giving and Producer’s Circle ($1,000 and above).
• Design and implement a major gifts strategy, including portfolio development and stewardship plans.
• Personally manage a portfolio of high-capacity donors and prospects.
• Partner with senior leadership and board members to cultivate and solicit major gifts.
• Ensure a best-in-class donor experience across all touchpoints.
• Develop meaningful stewardship strategies to deepen engagement and increase retention.
• Leverage storytelling and impact reporting to connect donors to mission outcomes.
• Use data and analytics to inform strategy, measure performance, and optimize campaigns.
• Oversee donor segmentation, pipeline management, and reporting.
• Ensure effective use of CRM systems and fundraising tools.
