Job summary

Iambic Therapeutics, based in San Diego, seeks a scientific leader in immunology to define and execute biology strategies for small-molecule programs. You will translate disease and immune biology into robust in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo evidence packages guiding medicinal chemistry from hit identification through IND-enabling studies.

Qualifications

• PhD in immunology with 15+ years in small-molecule discovery.
• Experience leading cross-functional small-molecule programs from hit to IND-enabling studies.
• Expertise in innate/adaptive immunology with primary-cell and ex vivo studies, including flow cytometry.
• Experience designing in vivo PK/PD, biomarker strategies, and translational work.
• Strong leadership and executive communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead immunology strategy from target validation through IND-enabling studies, integrating disease biology with SAR and translational biomarkers.
• Oversee disease-relevant in vitro/ex vivo studies using human immune cells to assess mechanism and potency.
• Define and oversee efficacy, mechanistic, and PK/PD in vivo studies, including translation to human biomarkers.
• Manage scientists and CROs, ensuring clear goals, timelines, budgets, and data quality.
