Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience across cybersecurity, IAM, security engineering, or related disciplines.
  • Proven experience leading managers and multidisciplinary teams responsible for enterprise security services.
  • Demonstrated ability to define and execute enterprise strategies, roadmaps, operating models, and transformation initiatives.

POSITION TITLE

Senior Director, Identity and Access Management

POSITION LOCATION

This position is available to Virginia residents as Richmond, VA hybrid in-office applicants or remote applicants residing in North Carolina, Maryland, Virginia, DC Metro. * A Hybrid schedule of both Remote and In-Office days would be required if you reside within 50 miles of a Genworth | CareScout office with working hours targeting our core business hours of 9am-5pm EST. For applicants outside of the 50-mile radius there would be an expectation of travel, approximately 25%.

YOUR ROLE

As Senior Director, Identity and Access Management, you will lead the strategy and architecture for some of our most critical operational and security capabilities. You will establish the standards and patterns to be used across all domains of identity and access management, including authentication, authorization, governance, secrets management, privileged access, and more. Reporting to the Head of Enterprise Architecture and AI, you will ensure that identity and access management standards are integrated into the overall technology strategy. You will create the accountability framework to ensure adoption and operational effectiveness of these standards. You will ensure our Identity and Access Management practices keep pace with the changing security landscape and regulatory requirements. You will orchestrate the modernization of legacy capabilities and ensure services are designed to scale and to be resilient. You will be responsible for securely enabling our business. This role blends enterprise strategy with hands‑on operational accountability. You will own the performance, resilience, control effectiveness, and modernization of the services in your portfolio, with the ability to assume additional responsibilities as enterprise priorities evolve.

What you will be doing
  • Define and execute the company’s enterprise Identity & Access Management strategy, roadmap, and target-state architecture to support business growth, cybersecurity objectives, regulatory compliance, and Zero Trust adoption.
  • Be on the cutting edge of AI identity, designing Genworth’s agentic identity strategy.
  • Lead enterprise identity modernization initiatives focused on cloud transformation, automation, user experience improvement, operational efficiency, and reduction of identity‑related technical debt.
  • Establish and govern the enterprise Identity Governance & Administration (IGA) framework, ensuring effective lifecycle management, access governance, least‑privilege enforcement, and audit readiness across all business applications and platforms.
  • Provide strategic leadership for Privileged Access Management (PAM), Privileged Identity Management (PIM), and Just‑In‑Time (JIT) access capabilities to reduce privileged access risk and strengthen security controls across the enterprise.
  • Own the strategic direction and governance of Genworth's identity platforms.
  • Establish identity governance, risk, and compliance programs that align with regulatory requirements, internal control frameworks, and cybersecurity standards while providing measurable risk reduction and executive reporting.
  • Drive technology rationalization, platform consolidation, and process automation initiatives that reduce complexity, improve resilience, lower total cost of ownership, and eliminate legacy identity technologies.
  • Partner with Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, Cloud, and Enterprise Architecture teams to position identity as a foundational component of Genworth's Zero Trust and enterprise security architecture.
  • Build, develop, and lead a high‑performing IAM organization while fostering strong partnerships across business, technology, risk, compliance, audit, and executive leadership teams.
  • Manage IAM investment strategy, budgets, vendor relationships, and strategic technology partnerships to maximize business value, operational effectiveness, and cybersecurity outcomes.
What you bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience across cybersecurity, identity and access management, security engineering, infrastructure, directory services, or related technology disciplines.
  • Proven experience leading managers, senior technical professionals, and multidisciplinary teams responsible for complex, enterprise‑scale security or technology services.
  • Demonstrated ability to define and execute enterprise strategies, multiyear roadmaps, operating models, investment plans, and transformation initiatives.
  • Deep expertise in identity governance, IAM, PAM, identity lifecycle management, access certifications, role and entitlement governance, least privilege, authentication, and hybrid identity environments.
  • Experience operating in complex, regulated environments, preferably financial services or insurance, with working knowledge of cybersecurity/control frameworks, regulatory examinations, audits, SOX controls, and assurance programs.
  • Strong ownership of service performance, operational risk, control effectiveness, incident and problem resolution, resiliency, lifecycle management, and disaster recovery.
  • Executive‑level communication, collaboration, and influencing skills, with the ability to lead through ambiguity, establish accountability across organizational boundaries, and deliver measurable enterprise outcomes.
  • Ability to travel, approximately 25%
COMPENSATION

National Range: $250,000 - $300,000 Disclaimer: This role is aligned to a national market‑based pay range. Actual compensation will vary based on geographic location, experience, skills, and other job‑related factors. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible to participate in a bonus incentive plan. Incentive compensation is based on individual and company performance and is not guaranteed.
