Job summary

RWE Americas, LLC is seeking a Sr Director, HSSE Operations to serve as the primary interface for HSSE and Operations across North America. This role provides strategic direction, technical leadership, and governance for HSSE across projects to ensure safe working conditions and regulatory compliance.

You will lead a regionally based HSSE team, drive behavior-based safety campaigns, manage HSSE programs, and report progress to leadership. Travel ~30% domestically is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Safety Management, Environmental, Engineering, or relevant area; Master's preferred.
• Minimum 11 years of operations safety management experience.
• Renewable Energy industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Leads and supports a team of direct reports and contract HSSE professionals to achieve KPIs and targets.
• Leads national campaigns around behavior-based safety, workforce empowerment, and leadership accountability.
• Oversees strategy implementation, KPIs, metrics, and targets for HSSE operations aligned with PE.
• Fosters company HSSE culture through interactions, communications and leading by example.
• Implements HSSE management system, policies and procedures to ensure compliance with company directives.
• Regularly reviews operations HSSE metrics and focuses team on high risk activities, trends and mitigations.
• Advises and guides operational leadership on HSSE system implementation, risk identification and mitigation.
• Coordinates and supports RCAs; conducts root cause analyses and identifies learnings.
• Ensures HSSE training compliance across the business.
