Job summary

Eli Lilly and Company is seeking a Senior Director HSE to lead the site HSE organization at our Goochland County, Virginia facility. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining HSE programs across manufacturing, labs, and utilities, ensuring compliance with global standards.

In this startup-focused role, you will build the HSE team, define priorities, and partner with corporate HSE to prepare for regulatory inspections, while driving a strong safety culture and process

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in relevant discipline.
• 5+ years of experience leading HSE teams and programs (preferably with PSM experience).
• Experience leading manufacturing site HSE programs and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the site HSE organization during pre-startup and startup phases to enable safe, compliant operations.
• Define HSE priorities and roadmaps; implement systems and processes.
• Serve as a key HSE stakeholder during project execution, guiding design, startup planning, and contractor safety.
• Own the HSE Management System post-startup to ensure regulatory compliance and alignment with Lilly standards.
• Benchmark best practices across the Lilly network and develop future HSE leadership.
