Role Description
This is a unique opportunity to be at the ground floor of a significant mission. As a Senior Director of Data Science for this new division, you will define the mission, hire, guide your teams, and influence Dropbox’s direction. You will drive the future of this initiative, focus on revenue and user growth, and build and lead a team of top-tier data scientists. You will be part of the product organization to create and scale this new business, fostering a data-informed culture with a focus on impact and execution.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team in balancing urgency with high quality standards through a data-informed approach.
• Partner closely with leadership across functions including Product, Engineering, Design, Research, GTM, Customer Success, and Sales.
• Participate in key decision-making processes for this initiative.
• Create a culture of technical ownership, ensuring reliable products and services at scale.
• Build and manage a high-performing team of data scientists to deliver top-tier analytics.
• Leverage data-driven insights to identify impactful opportunities and inform product roadmaps and experimentation design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.
• 10+ years of experience using data analysis to influence business decisions, preferably in tech.
• 5+ years managing data scientists, researchers, or analysts.
• Experience building and scaling data science functions in high-growth environments.
• Proven ability to work independently and engage stakeholders to drive business impact.
• Knowledge of advanced analytics methodologies, ML, and predictive modeling.
• Experience with SaaS product analytics, acquisition, engagement, and monetization.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to analyze large datasets and drive product/business impact.
• Excellent communication skills and executive presence.
• Experience building data-driven programs and teams, with proficiency in SQL and statistical analysis.

Compensation

US Zone 1: $297,500—$402,500 USD
US Zone 2: $267,800—$362,300 USD
US Zone 3: $238,000—$322,000 USD

Salary ranges are estimates and vary based on location, skills, and other factors. Dropbox offers a comprehensive rewards package including stock, bonuses, and benefits.
