Merck is seeking a Senior Director, Data Collection Data Steward to join the GCDS Leadership Team. The role sets strategy for standards, governance, and operations, driving enterprise metrics and coordinating resource planning, process excellence, and innovation.

Responsibilities include governance oversight, staff management, and collaboration across GDMS, GCTO, and GCD to deliver standards, training, and best practices for global teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with 13+ years in Clinical Data Management.
• 3 years in clinical data standards development or metadata management.
• Minimum of 5 years people management experience.
• Advanced degree with 10+ years experience in clinical data management (if applicable).
• PMP certification and/or project management experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Provide governance and strategic direction for data collection standards and governance deliverables across GDMS/GCTO/GCD.
• Lead cross-functional governance initiatives and manage resources and budgets.
• Support audits and inspections as required.
• Manage escalation points for governance decisions and library changes.
• Oversee development of training materials and delivery for global teams.
• Represent the company in industry forums and maintain a network of strategic partners.
• Provide oversight of data standards libraries and future library development.
• Collaborate with GCDS ELT to prioritize data collection libraries and components.
• Lead major strategic projects across GDMS/GCTO/GCD and cross-functional teams.
