Job summary

Confidential Careers seeks a Senior Director of Accounting Policy for a Fortune 250 global company. The role oversees accounting policy, financial reporting and inventory accounting for a $22B revenue organization.

Reporting to the CAO/Controller, you will lead 60+ professionals, partner with auditors and senior leaders, and drive internal controls improvements while developing a distributed accounting team. This is a confidential search, relocation assistance available.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of experience in financial accounting, reporting and internal controls.
• 5+ years leading large teams and partnering with senior executives.
• 5 years minimum of public accounting experience.
• CPA certification.
• Public accounting background followed by senior finance leadership.
• Strong technical accounting judgment and external auditor collaboration.
• Experience with public-company reporting and complex accounting matters.
• Experience with inventory accounting or manufacturing/industrial business.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting policy and guidance on significant, complex accounting matters across the business unit.
• Oversee financial reporting and inventory accounting for multiple subsidiaries.
• Review technical accounting analyses and white papers, and help resolve reporting issues during the close.
• Serve as a primary contact for Deloitte and Corporate Audit on business unit accounting matters.
• Strengthen internal controls and support improvements to accounting systems, tools and reporting processes.
• Develop senior accounting leaders and guide a large, geographically dispersed team.
• Partner with the CAO/Controller and other senior leaders on accounting decisions that affect the business.
