Job summary

Confidential Careers is seeking a Senior Director of Accounting Policy for a Fortune 250 global company. This executive will oversee accounting policy, financial reporting and inventory accounting for a $22 billion business and lead an accounting organization of 60+ professionals.

Reporting to the CAO/Controller, the role partners with business unit finance, corporate reporting and external auditors, while driving internal controls and system improvements. Relocation assistance is available.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in financial accounting, reporting and internal controls.
• 5+ years leading large teams and engaging with senior executives.
• 5 years minimum in public accounting.
• CPA certification.
• Experience with public company reporting and inventory accounting.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting policy and provide guidance on significant, complex accounting matters across the business unit.
• Oversee financial reporting and inventory accounting for multiple subsidiaries.
• Review technical accounting analyses and white papers, and help resolve reporting issues during the close.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for Deloitte and Corporate Audit on business unit accounting matters.
• Strengthen internal controls and support improvements to accounting systems, tools and reporting processes.
• Develop senior accounting leaders and guide a large, geographically dispersed team.
• Partner with the CAO/Controller and other senior leaders on accounting decisions that affect the business.
