Job summary

Roblox is seeking a Senior Director of Generative AI to lead the Applied AI organization within Roblox Build. You will own the full applied AI stack, including model strategy, routing, adaptation, CodeGen, and LayoutGen, driving evaluation science and infrastructure at scale.

You will build and lead high‑performing teams across research and production, ensuring alignment with creator outcomes and platform safety.

Qualifications

10+ years in ML/AI with 5+ years in senior technical leadership overseeing applied AI in production.
Deep grounding across RLHF, distillation, routing, adaptation, and evaluation.
Proven ability to lead teams spanning AI researchers and production engineers.
Strong evaluation fluency with benchmarks and production-ready metrics.
Experience influencing across research, product engineering, and platform teams.
Passion for AI-assisted 3D world creation and domain-specific code generation.

Responsibilities

Own model strategy and routing for Build; select models based on quality, latency, cost, and safety.
Lead model adaptation including fine-tuning, distillation, and data generation.
Advance CodeGen capabilities to understand creator intent and multi-file reasoning.
Develop LayoutGen to turn creator intent into coherent 3D scenes.
Build evaluation frameworks and pipelines to measure improvements in production.
Ensure continuous feedback between model development and deployment.
