Job summary

Roblox is hiring a Principal Engineer for Foundation AI to set technical strategy across model training, inference, LLM services, and agent infrastructure. You will own architecture and drive long-term health of systems used by many teams, partnering across engineering, product, research, data, and safety.

You will define multi-year architecture, guide cross-team efforts, and mentor engineers to uphold engineering excellence while balancing latency, cost, and reliability at Roblox scale.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience building and operating large-scale production software.
• Designing and owning foundational systems or platforms with organization-wide impact.
• Expert proficiency in one or more of Go, Python, or Rust.

Responsibilities

• Define the multi-year technical vision and architecture for platforms powering ML, AI, and agentic experiences.
• Drive the hardest, highest-leverage platform problems from framing to production across multi-provider inference resilience.
• Establish standards and guardrails for multi-tenant usage, attribution, metering, and onboarding.
