Job summary

Hanwha Energy USA in Houston seeks a Director of Project Development to lead the technical team in evaluating and advancing natural gas-fired power generation projects for data centers from concept to financial close.

You will blend engineering, commercial analysis, regulatory awareness, and cross-functional coordination to bring utility-scale gas-to-power projects to life, overseeing feasibility, design, cost estimates, and environmental permitting.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Energy Engineering (Master’s is a plus).
15+ years in power generation, natural gas turbines, EPC, or energy project development.
Experience with gas turbine and gas engine power projects preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead technical development of natural gas power plant projects (engines, simple-cycle, combined-cycle, cogeneration).
Conduct feasibility studies, preliminary engineering, and technology selection.
Develop conceptual designs, site layouts, and equipment specs.
Analyze performance, fuel options, emissions, and data center integration.
Lead environmental permitting and capital/OM cost estimation.
Support financial modeling with heat rate, output, and availability assumptions.
Oversee proposals, RFP responses, and investment memoranda.
Manage EPC contractors, timelines, and risk assessments.
