Job summary

Portage Point Partners is seeking a Director, Financial Services in Atlanta to serve as the go-to advisor on FIG transactions. You will lead diligence on insurance, wealth and asset management, and banking & capital markets deals, delivering specialized expertise and managing quality of earnings for sponsor-backed transactions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a top undergraduate program.
• Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
• 8+ years of financial due diligence experience with exposure to financial services or insurance sector transactions.
• Deep understanding of US GAAP principles and financial services-specific accounting considerations.
• Proficiency with specialized financial modeling tools.
• Superior written and verbal communication skills, including executive-ready presentation and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Portage Point leaders and clients to develop comprehensive solutions for financial services transactions.
• Lead diligence on insurance, wealth & asset management, banking & capital markets deals.
• Apply FIG-appropriate valuation frameworks to assess operations of financial services businesses.
• Draft clear reports with normalized earnings, budget achievability, and post-transaction considerations.
• Review contracts and agreements to identify deal implications and risks.
• Support business development and practice development initiatives.
