Job summary

Portage Point Partners, LLC is seeking a Director of Financial Services to lead diligence across insurance, wealth and asset management, banking and capital markets M&A. The role reports to the TAS Practice Line Leader and oversees quality of earnings, risk assessment, and sponsor advisory work.

The candidate will manage multiple workstreams, guide senior teams, and contribute to business development in a high-performance consultancy culture.

Qualifications

• CPA license required
• 8+ years of financial due diligence experience in financial services or insurance transactions, or audit/dd at a Big 4
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and sector-specific accounting considerations
• Proficiency with specialized financial modeling tools
• Excellent written and verbal communication for executive-level reporting
• Proven ability to thrive in lean, fast-moving teams

Responsibilities

• Partner with Portage Point leaders and clients to solve complex financial services deal challenges
• Lead discussions and build relationships with bank sponsors, PE firms and lenders
• Apply FIG-focused valuation frameworks to financial services businesses
• Execute buy-side and sell-side diligence, including normalized earnings, leverage and working capital
• Draft clear reports with key takeaways and post-transaction considerations
• Review transaction contracts to identify deal implications
• Support marketing and business development in FIG
• Collaborate with PI, restructuring and investment banking teams
