Job summary

Inspire Medical Systems, Inc. seeks a Senior Director of External Reporting and Technical Accounting to lead SEC filings and technical accounting. This role partners with Finance, Legal, Investor Relations, and auditors to ensure accurate, timely disclosures for a public company.

The candidate will drive policy development, governance, and continuous improvement in reporting processes while mentoring the accounting team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA certification required.
• Public company reporting experience with SEC filings and disclosure.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC rules, and internal control expectations.

Responsibilities

• Lead SEC reporting and filings (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, proxy disclosures) and earnings support.
• Oversee external reporting calendars, disclosure controls, and filing procedures.
• Research and document technical accounting conclusions under U.S. GAAP.
• Monitor new accounting standards and SEC regulations and ensure adoption.
• Advise Finance leadership on accounting matters, policy development, and disclosures.
• Coordinate with Legal, Investor Relations, FP&A, Tax, and Treasury on disclosures.
• Collaborate with external auditors and outside counsel on filings and accounting matters.
• Support Audit Committee and Board materials related to financial reporting and governance.
• Oversee SOX compliance, control activities, and continuous improvement in reporting.
