Overview

Location: U.S. Remote

Title: Senior Director, Enterprise Portfolio Operations

Pay: $120K - $150K/yr d.o.e. + annual bonus

Summary: New American Funding (NAF) is a nationwide mortgage lender dedicated to providing tailored home financing solutions to borrowers across the United States. We are seeking a visionary and execution-driven Leader of Enterprise Portfolio & Operations Strategy to lead the team responsible for driving cross-functional alignment, operational effectiveness, and strategic execution across our product, technology, and innovation portfolio. This role is critical to ensuring the successful delivery of enterprise initiatives through structured governance, resource prioritization, and operational excellence. As the leader of a multidisciplinary team—including Product Operations, Technology Operations, Enterprise Portfolio Management, and Idea Intake—you will establish and oversee frameworks that enable clarity, speed, and focus across the organization. You will serve as a key advisor to executive leadership, ensuring that initiatives align with business goals, regulatory requirements, and the evolving needs of our customers and markets.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership
    • Define and lead the enterprise-wide portfolio and operations strategy, ensuring alignment with the company’s long-term goals and market opportunities.
    • Serve as a thought partner to the executive team in prioritizing initiatives, resourcing strategic bets, and optimizing organizational performance.
  • Enterprise Portfolio Oversight
    • Own the enterprise initiative portfolio, including intake, prioritization, tracking, and delivery governance across business, product, and technology functions.
    • Partner with Finance, Strategy, Product, and Technology to ensure portfolio investments are aligned to capacity, risk, and business impact.
  • Operational Excellence
    • Drive a culture of operational discipline and performance measurement through robust OKRs, KPIs, and initiative health monitoring.
    • Oversee the design and evolution of processes, tooling, and communication rhythms that increase delivery velocity and quality.
  • Team & Functional Management
    • Lead and develop a high-performing, multidisciplinary team spanning product operations, technology operations, portfolio management, and innovation intake.
    • Align roles and responsibilities across functions, ensuring strong interlocks between strategy, planning, execution, and feedback loops.
  • Governance & Communication
    • Facilitate executive-level governance reviews, initiative status updates, and risk escalation protocols.
    • Ensure the organization has clear visibility into what is being worked on, why it matters, and how it’s progressing.
  • Continuous Improvement & Enablement
    • Identify and act on opportunities to improve how workflows across departments—from idea to execution to measurement.
    • Enable teams through frameworks, training, and tools that standardize how initiatives are evaluated and operationalized.
Qualifications

Job Competencies / Qualifications:

  • 5-7+ years of experience in enterprise portfolio management, program delivery, strategy, or operations in a fintech, mortgage, SaaS, or financial services environment.
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and overseeing enterprise-level planning, intake, and execution processes.
  • Strong understanding of agile, hybrid, and waterfall delivery models, as well as product development and business transformation practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a regulated, fast-moving environment with diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Excellent executive communication skills, with a strong ability to synthesize information and influence across all levels.
  • Proficiency in portfolio/project management tools and enterprise performance tracking systems.
