Job summary

Karman Space & Defense is seeking a seasoned Director of Manufacturing to shape and execute the enterprise production strategy across sites, programs, and supply chains. You will lead SIOP, capacity, and rate-readiness while partnering with operations, engineering, and finance to drive safety, quality, and throughput.

The role requires 12+ years in manufacturing within aerospace/defense, a solid ERP/MRP background, and proven ability to translate business goals into actionable plans with

Qualifications

• Must have a degree in engineering, operations management, supply chain or related field.
• Over a decade in manufacturing/operations with leadership of managers or cross-functional teams.
• Experience creating and executing manufacturing strategy in aerospace/defense.
• Knowledge of ERP and MRP, and manufacturing performance systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop enterprise manufacturing/ops strategy aligned to demand and programs.
• Lead SIOP, capacity planning, rate-readiness and scenario planning.
• Establish KPIs and reporting for senior leadership.
• Drive cross-site improvements in safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
• Plan factory footprint, make-buy, automation, and capital strategies.
• Lead readiness reviews for new products and major transitions.
• Collaborate with site leaders to fix underperforming value streams.
• Standardize lean practices across sites.
• Build multi-year roadmaps and communicate risks and decisions.
