Job summary

Karman Space & Defense seeks an Operations Manager in South El Monte, CA to oversee manufacturing operations and drive improvements across production, program management, and assembly activities. You will lead daily execution, guide shop supervision, and ensure processes and quality-management responsibilities are effective.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; four-year degree required or equivalent experience.
• Strong Excel skills for data analysis, KPI tracking, forecasting, and reporting.
• Experience with Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Proven ability in strategic planning, capacity planning, and operational execution.
• Knowledge of organizational effectiveness and operations management systems.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and influencing skills.
• Experience managing budgets and forecasts in a production environment.
• Experience with ERP systems' advanced functionalities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day manufacturing operations and align with company goals.
• Supervise Operations Supervisors, Assembly Technicians, and stock activities.
• Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Identify bottlenecks and lead cross-functional improvement with PM, engineering, and quality.
• Coach and support staff to meet performance standards.
• Manage budgets, forecasts, resource allocation, and timelines.
• Monitor KPIs and drive on-time delivery, efficiency, and throughput improvements.
• Schedule daily assignments and support commitments.
• Lead continuous improvement to enhance efficiency and throughput.
• Address safety issues and collaborate to resolve roadblocks.
