Job summary

NRG Energy seeks a Senior Director to join its Growth & Partnerships organization. This entrepreneurial energy leader will shape enterprise growth opportunities across data center power solutions, load management, DERs, and other emerging opportunities, partnering with operating businesses and cross-functional teams.

The role requires strategic insight, commercial judgment, financial acumen, and a builder's mindset to advance opportunities from thesis through initial deployment to scale.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience originating, structuring, and advancing new businesses, commercial models, strategic partnerships, or investment opportunities.
• Demonstrated success landing high-value partnerships and advancing growth initiatives from concept to deployment.
• Leadership experience in energy, utilities, or related sectors with cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of a focused pipeline of enterprise growth opportunities grounded in customer needs and market timing.
• Direct creation and testing of growth theses using market intelligence and internal expertise.
• Own development of business cases, financial models, and investment recommendations for priority opportunities.
• Establish critical assumptions, value drivers, risks, milestones, and decision points for advancing opportunities.
• Lead cross-functional teams across commercial, finance, regulatory, legal, operations, technology and strategy.
