Job summary

Cambridge Nonprofit Coalition seeks a Protective Services Director to lead the Protective Services Department, ensuring timely, compassionate responses to elder abuse and safety concerns, and regulatory compliance under MA standards.

The role supervises staff, guides clinical decision making, builds community partnerships, and leads outreach to raise awareness and referrals while managing program quality, budget, and sustainability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years related experience required, or MSW and three years.
• LICSW preferred.
• Case management experience preferred.
• Previous Protective Services experience strongly preferred.
• Must meet CORI/SORI and public health screening requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Protective Services Department in compliance with MA regulations.
• Supervise staff with clear expectations, guidance, coaching and accountability.
• Oversee screening of reports, case assignment, and urgent prioritization.
• Establish workflows, staffing, and documentation for timely responses.
• Provide clinical leadership and risk‑assessment support on complex cases.
• Promote trauma‑informed, least‑restrictive approaches and dignity for older adults.
• Lead community outreach and education to increase awareness and referrals.
• Develop and maintain external partnerships with healthcare, housing, and government partners.
• Ensure compliance, quality improvement, and measurable performance reporting.
• Develop and monitor the Protective Services budget and program sustainability.
• Provide staff supervision and ongoing professional development.
• Participate in after‑hours coverage per on‑call policies and procedures.
