HdL Companies seeks a Director of Economic Development in Brea, CA, to lead and grow the practice with accountability for strategy, client service, and financial performance. This senior role emphasizes trusted adviser relationships with public agencies, business attraction, retention, expansion, investment, and sustainable community growth.

The Director will have P&L responsibility, drive revenue growth, budgeting, forecasting, and resource planning while maintaining strong client relationships

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Admin, Economics, Public Admin, Urban Planning, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in economic development or related field.
• Strong P&L, budgeting, and financial performance experience.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage the Economic Development practice P&L and financial performance.
• Develop annual budgets, forecasts, revenue plans, and operating targets.
• Lead strategy and business development initiatives for growth.
• Serve as senior advisor to public-agency clients and ensure high client satisfaction.
• Build and maintain client relationships and cross-service line collaboration.
• Lead, develop, and mentor the Economic Development team.
