Job summary

Kymera Therapeutics seeks a Senior Director of Formulation Development to lead preformulation and early-stage formulation across small-molecule programs. You will be a hands-on scientific leader driving strategies from candidate selection through IND and early clinical development, collaborating with Research, DMPK, and CMC in a fast-paced biotech setting.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
• 15+ years in pharma formulation development, with leadership in early-stage programs.
• Strong knowledge of preformulation, biopharmaceutics, and oral solid dose manufacturing.
• Experience advancing programs from discovery through IND and into clinical development.
• Familiarity with GMP expectations and regulatory pathways.

Responsibilities

• Lead early formulation development activities for preclinical and early clinical programs.
• Provide scientific direction on preformulation and enabling formulation strategies.
• Coordinate with CROs/CDMOs to execute development programs.
• Develop phase-appropriate drug product strategies for toxicology and early trials.
• Support regulatory strategy and preparation of IND sections for drug product.
• Establish best practices and SOPs for early formulation development.
• Ensure timelines, scientific quality, and technical objectives are met with external partners.
