Job summary

Moderna invites a Senior Director of New Product Planning to shape early oncology programs from discovery through proof of concept. You will align mechanism of action with tumor biology, develop target product profiles, and prioritize portfolio opportunities across R&D, Commercial, and Manufacturing.

You will lead cross-functional strategy, test hypotheses with scientific and market evidence, and present decisive recommendations to senior leaders to optimize resource allocation and program

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a scientific, medical, business, or related field.
• At least 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry with new product planning, strategy, or portfolio leadership.
• Experience leading product and portfolio strategy across multiple programs in discovery and early development.
• Strong understanding of oncology biology and clinical development.

Responsibilities

• Lead a disciplined strategy process with program teams to frame choices and justify decisions.
• Develop target product profiles linking mechanism of action to patient populations and care settings.
• Assess disease biology, biomarkers, and clinical endpoints to inform program direction.
• Evaluate competitive landscape and integration of market insights into early program decisions.
• Prioritize indications and development paths across the oncology portfolio.
• Present clear recommendations and tradeoffs to senior leaders with evidence gaps.
