Job summary

Planet is seeking a Senior Director of Product Management to lead our Defense and Intelligence portfolio, defining strategy, building roadmaps, and driving execution for flagship dual-use products such as Global Monitoring Service (GMS) and Marine Domain Awareness (MDA).

You will manage a team of product managers and partner with executive leadership to transform satellite imagery and API services into scalable, mission-critical software solutions.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant work experience in defense, intelligence, geospatial, or aerospace sectors.
• 8+ years of supervisory/leadership experience.
• Experience scaling end-to-end dual-use or defense software applications from concept to launch.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Defense and Intelligence mission frameworks and workflows.
• Familiarity with ITAR and EAR compliance in product development.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for executives and partners.
• Eligibility to obtain top-secret clearance or current clearance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the full product lifecycle for the D&I portfolio.
• Translate market vision into actionable roadmaps for GMS and MDA lines.
• Recruit, mentor, and manage a team of product managers.
• Collaborate with D&I Engineering leadership to align strategy with execution sprints.
• Develop dual-use tools monitoring geopolitical events and critical infrastructure.
