Qualifications

• 10+ years mentoring and scaling software or data engineering teams.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement across business, tech, and product teams.
• Proven leadership of complex projects and senior engineering staff development.
• Extensive JVM development with deep Scala proficiency; functional programming concepts emphasized.
• 6+ years Spark experience; building, debugging, and optimizing distributed Spark apps.
• DevOps/CI-CD: Git, GitHub Actions; Maven/SBT; Agile Scrum/Lean.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic technical leadership across data integration teams.
• Develop and inspire high-performing teams; mentor and grow senior engineers.
• Drive engineering excellence with modular design and testing practices.
• Lead design and delivery of scalable data architectures using Spark/Scala in Microsoft Fabric.
• Optimize Spark workloads; manage memory, partitioning, and query planning for batch/streaming.
• Drive data FinOps and cloud cost governance to maximize ROI and sustain SLAs.
