Job summary

ALSAC is seeking a Sr. Director of Data Governance & Enablement to lead the enterprise data governance program, partnering with Legal, Information Security, Technology, and business leaders.

You will shape policies, standards, and controls, ensuring data quality, privacy, and responsible use across analytics, reporting, and AI initiatives. Based in Memphis with a hybrid work schedule, remote consideration may be available for qualified candidates within the United States.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor's degree in information management, data or computer science, analytics, business, risk, law, public policy, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in data governance, data management, privacy, risk, or related disciplines, including enterprise-scale leadership.
• Demonstrated experience establishing data governance frameworks, policies, standards, and controls.
• Strong understanding of data ecosystems, metadata, catalog capabilities, data quality, lineage, cloud platforms, analytics delivery, and AI data requirements.
• Executive communication, facilitation, negotiation, and change leadership.
• Ability to align governance and privacy investments with growth, efficiency, trust, and risk reduction.

Responsibilities

• Develop and own the enterprise data governance and enablement strategy, roadmap, and maturity plan.
• Define policies, standards, decision rights, governance forums, and escalation paths with clear accountability.
• Lead enterprise privacy program, embedding privacy-by-design across systems, campaigns, analytics, and AI data use.
• Establish data ownership, quality, access, metadata, lineage, and retention across platforms.
• Provide governance for analytics and AI, ensuring data is fit for purpose and compliant.
• Lead a federated community of data owners, stewards, analysts, and technology partners.
