Job summary

BNY Mellon seeks a Senior Director, Data/AI Engineering Manager in New York to lead a strategic engineering function focused on modern data, AI, and platform capabilities. This leader will bridge business, data, AI, and governance to enable enterprise-scale, AI-enabled delivery across critical domains.

You will shape the AI context layer with knowledge graphs, semantic models, and metadata-driven capabilities, while driving high-performance teams, execution discipline, and measurable business

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required; advanced degree preferred.
• Extensive leadership experience in data, AI, platform, or solution delivery in large, regulated enterprises.
• Strong governance, risk, and regulatory awareness with a track record of transformation at scale.

Responsibilities

• Lead a Data/AI Engineering function, setting strategy and delivering platforms that enable data interoperability and AI adoption.
• Define the vision and align priorities with business goals, architecture, risk, and transformation objectives.
• Build and guide high-performing, matrixed teams and foster a culture of collaboration and accountability.
• Design scalable, trusted data and AI platforms with strong controls around data usage and explainability.
• Drive the AI context layer, including knowledge graphs, ontologies, and metadata-driven frameworks.
• Translate opportunities into executable roadmaps and prioritized investments with measurable business impact.
• Oversee programs, governance routines, budget allocation, and talent development for sustainable performance.
