Job summary

Momentous, a fast-growing human performance company, seeks a Director of Technology & Data Engineering in Park City, Utah. You will own Momentous’ cloud data platform, data governance, and enterprise systems, while leading a lean, hands-on team to deliver AI-enabled data capabilities across eCommerce, finance, and operations.

You will partner with Finance, Analytics, and external vendors to build scalable, secure data foundations, drive cost efficiency, and set governance for AI tools and data

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in data engineering, cloud infrastructure, or enterprise tech.
• Hands-on designing, building, and operating modern cloud data platforms (GCP/BigQuery).
• Experience owning enterprise IT systems and managing external vendors with SLAs.
• Experience integrating business systems and data sources across eCommerce, subscriptions, ERP, Amazon and omnichannel.
• Lean, high-growth environment leadership with hands-on execution.
• Fluent SQL and Python; experience with pipelines, orchestration, and IaC.
• Strong knowledge of GCP, BigQuery, IAM, environment separation, and cloud cost optimization.
• Experience with dbt, MetricFlow, or similar semantic layer tech.
• Understanding of Shopify, Recharge, Fulfil ERP and omnichannel integrations.
• Experience building with LLMs and AI-native architectures (MCP servers, AI agents).
• Knowledge of IT security, privacy, vendor risk, and SOC-style controls.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional leadership.

Responsibilities

• Own cloud data platform architecture, development, and operation (GCP/BigQuery).
• Design and maintain scalable data ingestion, transformation, and integration pipelines.
• Establish dev/prod environments, access controls, monitoring, and standards.
• Ensure data reliability, freshness, and cost efficiency through proactive optimization.
• Own integrations across Shopify, Recharge, Fulfil ERP, Amazon, retail systems.
• Ensure accurate data flows across eCommerce, subscriptions, Finance, Operations.
• Manage external technology and data vendors with SLAs and accountability.
• Identify opportunities to simplify systems and improve efficiency.
• Build a governed data foundation and semantic layer with dbt or MetricFlow.
• Develop AI-ready architecture and secure data access for AI tools.
