Opiniion is seeking a Staff Data Architect to own the data platform architecture end-to-end, shaping ingestion, modeling, governance, and analytics readiness for a fast-growing SaaS organization in Lehi, Utah. You will partner with our Staff Software Architect to align current foundations with a bold new platform, balancing transition decisions while staying hands-on with the systems you design.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in data engineering or data architecture.
• 7+ years in an architect or technical leadership capacity.
• Deep expertise in Databricks (Delta Lake, Unity Catalog) or Snowflake.
• Strong background in data modeling methodologies and governance.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture of the data platform, including ingestion, transformation, storage, and semantic/BI layers.
• Partner with the Staff Software Architect to drive architecture and rollout of the new platform.
• Balance ownership of the current data platform with architecting the new one during the transition.
• Design scalable data foundations to support growth in data volume and analytics demand.
• Own canonical data models, schema design, and data architecture standards.
• Lead governance, quality, lineage, and security practices across the platform.
