Job summary

WD is seeking a Senior Director to lead WD Capital, the company’s corporate venture arm. You will own the strategy and execution for the portfolio, driving sourcing, diligence, structuring, and governance while building a thesis-driven pipeline of early-stage companies aligned to WD’s priorities.

You will also lead investments end-to-end, interact with executives, and manage relationships with the broader venture ecosystem. This role requires strong VC experience and deep technical acumen.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline is required.
• 12+ years of venture capital experience, including leading or building a corporate VC program.
• Experience in sourcing, evaluating, negotiating, and closing early-stage tech investments.
• Experience managing a venture portfolio, with board/observer roles and follow-on/exit decisions.
• Strong financial Modeling, valuation, and deal structuring skills.
• Deep familiarity with storage, semiconductors, data infrastructure, or related tech domains.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage WD Capital portfolio end-to-end.
• Develop and refresh a thesis-driven pipeline of early-stage companies.
• Lead sourcing, diligence, valuation, structuring, negotiation, and closing of investments.
• Present investment recommendations and portfolio insights to the Investment Committee and executives.
• Build and maintain a strong venture ecosystem network.
