Celea Therapeutics, Inc. in Boston seeks a strategic, hands-on Director, Head of Communications to build and execute an integrated external communications program.

Reporting to the COO, this role will own corporate communications and the operating cadence required for the company. This role requires biotech communications judgment, excellent writing, disciplined project management, and the ability to align legal, finance, clinical, medical affairs, and executives in a lean environment while

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, business, finance, life sciences, journalism, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• 8+ years in investor relations, corporate or biotech/pharma communications, or healthcare capital markets.
• Experience preparing corporate decks, message maps, press releases, and conference messaging.
• Excellent writing and editing skills with ability to translate complex science into concise business language.
• Strong project management in a fast-paced, early-stage environment with limited infrastructure.
• Proficiency using AI tools to improve drafting, research, and workflows while maintaining accountability.
• Familiarity with rare disease, pulmonary, respiratory, or specialty pharma markets.

Responsabilités

• Own Celea’s integrated communications workplan, ensuring messaging is clear, credible, regulatorily appropriate, and aligned with strategy.
• Develop and maintain external-facing materials (corporate deck, presentations, press releases, talking points, Q&A, website updates, social content).
• Support corporate objectives with senior leadership, Finance, Legal, Clinical, Medical Affairs, and external advisors, including conference planning.
• Lead internal communications with HR, including messaging for announcements and program rollouts.
• Translate complex clinical and regulatory information into audience-appropriate messaging for healthcare stakeholders, media, and investors.
• Lead proactive and reactive communications around milestones, balancing planned news with opportunistic visibility.
• Coordinate media relations, thought leadership, and agency partners; manage scopes, timelines, budgets, and quality.
• Oversee Celea’s web presence, including patients, providers, career seekers, investors, and media audiences.
• Create templates, trackers, and version-control standards for lean company with public-company discipline.
• Prepare infrastructure for future Communications team growth, scalable processes, tools, and agency interfaces.
