Job summary

Community Financial System, Inc. (CFSI) seeks a Director of Consumer Collections to lead delinquency management and loss mitigation across consumer loan portfolios, including mortgages, home equity, auto loans and other retail lending products.

You will drive strategies to minimize credit losses, support borrowers in hardship, and ensure regulatory compliance while coordinating with Credit Risk, Mortgage Servicing, and Compliance teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, or related field.
• All applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in consumer collections, mortgage servicing, or related fields.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing collections or servicing operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic direction for the Consumer Collections function across loan portfolios.
• Oversee delinquency management, loss mitigation, repossession, recovery and charge-off activities.
• Ensure compliance with FDCPA, FCRA, RESPA, TILA, CFPB requirements and related laws.
• Monitor delinquency trends, losses, and recovery results; adjust policies accordingly.
• Collaborate with Credit Risk, Mortgage Servicing, and Operations to optimize performance.
• Manage relationships with external vendors and third-party collection agencies.
