Job summary

Community Financial System, Inc. (CFSI) seeks a Director of Consumer Collections to lead strategy, operations, and regulatory compliance across consumer loan portfolios.

This role oversees delinquency management, loss mitigation, foreclosure, repossession, and recovery while coordinating with Mortgage Servicing and Credit Risk. You will guide policy, drive improvements, manage third-party partners, and mentor managers to optimize performance and customer outcomes in a complex retail and mortgage

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in consumer collections, mortgage servicing, or related areas.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing collections or servicing operations.
• Experience with mortgage, home equity, auto loan, and consumer loan portfolios.
• Strong knowledge of FDCPA, FCRA, and related regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive collections strategies across consumer loan portfolios.
• Lead and develop collections managers and staff to improve delinquency performance.
• Oversee delinquency, loss mitigation, repossession, and recovery activities.
• Ensure compliance with investor, insurer, regulatory requirements and internal controls.
• Evaluate technologies, vendor relationships, and process improvements.
• Collaborate with Credit Risk, Lending, Mortgage Servicing, and Operations to optimize performance.
