Job summary

The Director of Human Services for Clark County leads the professional and administrative oversight of the County’s Human Services Department, ensuring programs comply with state and federal mandates.

Responsibilities include budgeting, program development, grant writing, contract management, and providing direction to the leadership team while maintaining strong community partnerships and ensuring high-quality client services across the county.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Services, Human Services, Public Administration, or a related field.
• Extensive experience in progressively responsible and relevant positions.
• Valid driver's license and successful completion of a Criminal and Caregiver Background Check.

Responsibilities

• Oversee department personnel functions, hiring decisions, and delegation of duties.
• Provide direction and supervision of the department's leadership team.
• Develop and monitor budgets and prepare reports for committees and the County Board.
• Develop and implement contracts for services and ensure compliance with funding sources.
• Advise on program development, grant writing, and evaluation activities.
• Communicate regulatory requirements and impact on the county to stakeholders.
