Job summary

SEEC, a Maryland nonprofit supporting people with developmental disabilities, seeks a Chief Communications and Development Officer to lead the Communications and Development department and align with SEEC’s mission. You will steer strategy, manage budgets, cultivate donors, and drive brand and public engagement to support growth and impact across the community SEEC serves.

As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will partner across departments, monitor KPIs, and direct storytelling

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field required; Master’s preferred.
• Minimum of seven (7) years in communications, development, fundraising, or related nonprofit leadership.
• Experience translating strategy into measurable departmental goals and outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and evaluate an integrated Communications and Development strategy aligned with SEEC’s mission.
• Lead fundraising strategies, donor development, and diversification of revenue.
• Oversee brand, messaging, digital engagement, and external communications across channels.
• Build a high-performing Communications and Development team with clear roles and accountability.
• Establish KPIs, dashboards, and reporting to measure impact and inform decisions.
