Job Description
The Sr Director of Clinical Account Management is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership to a team of account executives and is accountable for the satisfaction and retention of assigned clients. This position collaborates across functions to ensure strategic alignment and execution of Prime, and assigned client priorities.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational leadership to the account executive function; serve as point of escalation and accountable leader for issue resolution across clients.
- Establish processes and tracking methodologies to monitor performance against contracts and prevent repeat issues; develop and document standard operating procedures, reporting requirements, and operational activities to serve clients consistently and efficiently.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and maintain direct relationships with clients, especially with senior leadership; develop a consultative, service-oriented partnership to maximize client satisfaction, contract renewals, and product adoption; build relationships with key client stakeholders and gather routine feedback.
- Identify and maintain relationships with key cross-functional partners; collaborate on Go-To-Market strategies and establish communication to monitor performance, address issues, and improve processes.
- Lead contract negotiations and pricing for new business and renewals; participate in RFPs and oversee project implementations.
- Review and assign account executive's book of business; support retention and strategic fulfillment.
- Facilitate strategic discussions with clients on service performance and growth opportunities; support development of engagement strategies.
- Manage budgets, revenue goals, staffing, and performance; support team development and resolve employee issues; attend client meetings as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Healthcare Administration, PharmD, or related field, or equivalent experience; HS diploma or GED required.
- 8 years of relevant client services experience in healthcare or pharmacy benefit management, preferably Medicaid.
- 5 years of leadership/people management experience.
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.
Additional Qualifications
- Thorough understanding of the PBM industry and expertise in areas like pharmacy trends or Medicaid benefits.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to facilitate meetings, resolve conflicts, build consensus, and influence across departments and levels.
- Ability to balance compliance, business goals, and risks while driving initiatives.
- Strong organizational skills; capable of managing multiple complex projects under pressure.
- Proven leadership in establishing team culture, creating vision, and developing people.
- Ability to develop strategic plans for client retention and product adoption.
- Strong analytical skills to develop solutions for client problems.
- Effective in a matrixed team environment; demonstrated cross-departmental leadership.
- Ability to lead process improvements.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Physical Demands
- Up to 30% travel.
- Work outside standard hours as needed, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
- Constant sitting, talking, hearing; frequent reaching; occasional standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching; lifting up to 25 pounds; vision requirements.
Employees must comply with security responsibilities, legal, regulatory, contractual requirements, and internal policies.
Potential pay ranges from $143,000 to $243,000, based on experience and skills.
